Your individual training plan
For us, the focus is on the individual with their personal history, individual wishes, and ideas. Everyone is special and unique. Therefore, they also need a training concept that is specifically tailored to their needs and life situation.
We cannot and do not want to work for the masses. We work with the highest quality for a small number of athletes. Only in this way can we remain true to our own principles and perform our tasks with full energy. This guarantees our athletes the basis for their own highest possible performance.
We like to work with our athletes for longer periods of time. Less than 6 months therefore makes little sense. The collaboration is a relationship between athlete and coach and requires some time to get to know each other well and build trust so that it works as well as possible.
We write our training plans week by week in close consultation with our athletes, taking into account their life situations and available options. Life can change quickly, and we want to be able to respond to that. We don’t think much of bronze, silver, or gold packages that dictate how often you can contact us. We value good, honest communication on an equal footing and interaction when you need us.
If you are interested in achieving your (athletic) goals with professional support, then place your trust in us and we will take you by the hand to make your dream come true together. We are happy to be there for you!

Here are a few comments from the athletes:
When I came to Martin in 2013 at the age of 14, I had completed exactly one triathlon. A few years later, my room is filled with trophies and medals from various triathlons, duathlons, and runs. This clearly underlines the professionalism of his work. Without a perfectly tailored training plan, I would never have been able to improve so much during this time.
But Martin wouldn’t be Martin if that alone were the key to success. My coach cares most about the well-being and enjoyment of each individual athlete. Everyone gets a training plan that allows them to achieve their individual goals and get the most out of this great sport. Especially for me as a young athlete, it was important not to lose my long-term interest in exercise, and there is certainly no better coach for that!
I am very grateful to Martin for the time I was able to train with him. Martin has helped me progress a lot, not only as an athlete but also as a person!
Florian GillyI found the coaching extremely enriching. Martin struck exactly the right balance between challenging and encouraging me in training, while at the same time always taking my family and professional commitments into account and tailoring the training plan accordingly. He always managed to motivate me, not only in training, but also to take part in competitions that I would not have dared to do on my own. I have particularly fond memories of the marathon in Salzburg. During the last few kilometers, when you can really feel your legs, he suddenly appeared at the side of the road and ran with me almost to the finish line. The heavy rain and the laptop in his backpack couldn’t stop him. At the same time, he constantly motivated me and the runners around us. I found this experience particularly enjoyable, and it distinguishes him as a very thoughtful, humane, yet demanding coach.
Silvia GallistlFor Martin, athletic performance is not the most important thing; rather, it is the interpersonal relationship between coach and athlete. Success then comes naturally.
I had the great pleasure of working with Martin for five years. We worked together from the beginning of my triathlon career to long distance. Thanks to his modern training approach and high-quality, effective training methods, it was possible to achieve maximum results and steady progress with manageable effort. The training was always tailored to my goals, needs, and abilities. This was achieved through constant personal contact and regular discussions. Martin also sees triathlon as a team sport, which is why joint training sessions and activities such as parties, barbecues, and excursions for the entire training group are a high priority and, above all, strengthen the cohesion, social skills, and motivation of the entire group.
During the competition, total commitment and maximum performance were required in order to reap the rewards of successful teamwork. “Run! Don’t think! That uses up valuable oxygen!” Martin shouted to me during the final meters of the Trummer Triathlon.
The family atmosphere, the community of the training group, the personal contact with Martin and the other athletes, and the joy of sport made training at TriMaMa a great and, above all, very special experience.
Günther KneidingerFrom the very beginning, it was clear to me that if I ever seriously considered running a long distance, it would only be with Martin’s help as my coach.
I already knew him from our winter running training sessions and simply felt that he would be the best person to coach me.
He managed to perfectly balance my very inflexible working hours with my training so that I never felt overwhelmed by the training. As a result, I always trained with great enthusiasm and looked forward to my upcoming athletic challenges every week.
This gave me a lot of self-confidence for the competition. Martin’s tips and stories also dispelled my recurring doubts, so that I continuously developed into a very self-confident triathlete.
During my first Ironman in Sweden, I often remembered Martin’s motivational phrases, which he used to really motivate me during our phone call the night before! It all paid off on that day! I finished in my hoped-for time of 13 hours and was greeted at the finish line with the words, “Sabine, you are an IRONMAN,” which filled me with immense joy and incredible pride!
In fact, Martin taught me, not only as a coach but also as a person, not to take it for granted that I am able to participate in this wonderful sport. When we were doing a stability training session in the sunshine at Seoul Tower in the run-up to our first Ironman Korea together this year, Martin suddenly said: Just look at this view of Seoul! What a privilege it is to be able to train here! …and yes, he is right about that…
Thank you, Martin, for our collaboration so far, may many more years follow!
Sabine HochwimmerI found our collaboration to be an exciting mix of braking, steering, and accelerating, whereby we never lost sight of the “goal” and, above all, we always achieved the goals we set together. As an athlete, I learned above all how important it is to accelerate and then regenerate 🙂
As a person, I have definitely developed a great deal. Simply by getting to know many new people. And sport also brings the soul into harmony with the body, which I have felt very strongly and can draw on for the rest of my life.
The intervals with Martin were always special experiences! Whether in the stadium or at the start of the GIS run, where someone asked us if they should call an ambulance 🙂
Stefan Lust“When your feet and your head give up, run with your heart.” Martin repeated this phrase to me over and over again from kilometer 22 of the Wolfgangsee Run, motivating me to push through the last few kilometers and helping me tap into strength I didn’t know I had. This sentence also best describes the collaboration between Martin and me. He always believed in me, I pushed myself to my limits and often beyond, but always with a smile on my face, and that’s how I managed to finish a half-distance triathlon.
Daniela KneidingerThe collaboration was very interesting for me because I had nothing to do with triathlon until 2015, and then I joined TriRun Linz, where we got to know each other. As a coach, I liked Martin right from the start. When I found out that Martin offered individual coaching, I was immediately interested. Since I am very ambitious in sports and wanted to achieve something quickly, it was very beneficial for me that Martin accepted me into the group. From then on, things really took off for me – with weekly plans that are very well structured and well put together for my shift work. Of course, I had big plans for 2016. Since I saw Martin as my coach and mentor, I was able to start the season fully motivated. Thanks to our good cooperation, I managed to complete the half marathon in under 2 hours. The triathlon season was then amazing for me. I completed all the sprint distances in a very acceptable time for me and at the end of the season I even managed to finish my first Olympic distance, which I completed in under 3 hours thanks to Martin. I was so happy that it brought tears to my eyes. But thanks to my sunglasses, no one could see. What I really like is that Martin is always present at my competitions and always supports me with motivating and encouraging words. I greatly appreciate Martin’s work as a coach, person, and mentor because he puts a lot of heart and commitment into his work.
Johannes MitgutschI met Martin seven years ago through TriRun Linz running training. At the time, he was still training to become a triathlon instructor, and I really enjoyed his training sessions – so I attended every week. This led to a good friendship that continues to this day. Together with our friends, we did a lot of things together and trained together back then. Martin continued to further his education in the field of triathlon training (state-certified triathlon trainer, etc.) while also training for his first IRONMAN. When I decided to do my first half-distance race in 2015, it was clear to me that I wanted to ask Martin if he would prepare me for this competition with targeted training plans. And this collaboration continues to this day.
Martin and I have participated in many competitions together, and he has accompanied me as my coach in some of them. This is very important to me. Martin is not only available by phone or email, but also in person. Through joint training sessions, such as swimming training once a week, he is always “accessible” and takes a lot of time for every conversation.
Martin trained and prepared me for five half-distance races, and together we decided that I would compete in IRONMAN AUSTRIA in 2017. He accompanied me on this journey and was also there on this special day, which was an unforgettable experience for me and couldn’t have gone more perfectly.
What I particularly appreciate about Martin is that he is always continuing his education (swimming coach, specialist coach, etc.) and passes this knowledge on to us athletes on a few selected days throughout the year.
It is important to Martin that his athletes get along well with each other, which he encourages through joint training sessions. The atmosphere in the Tri MaMa team is therefore always very good.
Lisa ZellerThe decision to hire Martin as a trainer was actually clear to me years ago, simply because it always worked so well with my son Florian! Despite the cancellation of my planned Ironman competition, we found a good solution together for the changed training situation. It was great that he was always flexible with my often changing work hours. The plan was always well tailored to me and I was able to stick to the training program really well. Even when we had to change the plan again two days before, my coach always got the best out of me!
Although fun and enjoyment have always been my main focus, it was a year of new records, whether in the half marathon, the swimming competition, or my main competitions in Chiemsee and Prague! The competition at Chiemsee was definitely the highlight of my year. Highly motivated and well prepared, I crossed the finish line with a new personal best! Above all, I was able to really enjoy the race from start to finish!
Martin’s suggestion to try the competition without a watch, just to clear my head, turned out to be the right decision, even though I had some slight reservations! Suggestions like this simply confirm Martin’s keen sense of what we athletes need! It’s great that Martin always kept in mind that my training plans should leave enough time for my family and partner.
I am glad that I was able to be part of your team for a year and hope that we can continue to work together for several successful years as I pursue my big goal of qualifying for Hawaii!
Thank you for the collaboration!
Robert FalknerWhat I appreciate most about Martin’s coaching is the straightforward, individual, and personal support. I can contact him at any time, and he always has an open ear, regardless of what the issue is. He tailors the training program to my needs, and if necessary, the plan can always be adjusted at short notice. I feel that he is always by my side, not only during successful phases, but also when things get difficult and don’t go as planned. Martin knows how to motivate people and is very committed. It is clear that his athletes are close to his heart.
Diana HufnaglI would like to take this opportunity to thank Martin once again for his coaching…it was a really good time together. I had good basic training over the winter, “learned” to swim, and discovered stability and strength training for the first time. I was bombarded with lots of new impressions and things that really helped me progress. I have learned to appreciate much more what I have when my body is healthy and my environment is intact. And for that I am very grateful to you.
The sporting highlight for me was, of course, my first triathlon. I never would have thought in a million years that I could achieve such a feat…let alone finish one. It’s still incomprehensible to me that I succeeded. And I’m proud of that.
But there’s another insight I’ve gained from our year of training together:
Through the training, which was marked by highs and lows, I’ve become much more relaxed. And I can also share in the joy of others much more. I am proud and also in awe that my thinking has completely changed.
And I would really, really like to say THANK YOU for showing me this path and accompanying me part of the way.
I am glad that I had the opportunity to get to know you as a coach. And that I had the opportunity to celebrate with you, to be sad with you, to have fun with you, and most importantly, to grow as a person.
I am already looking forward to the new training sessions, competitions, and adventures that we will experience together.
